Al Tomlinson Collection: This series of black and white and colored pen and ink Native American and Maine river logging theme graphics were produced by artist Al Tomlinson of Auburn, Maine. They were commissioned and created to illustrate traditional Native American and river logging scenes as well as secenes that bring these two cultures together in a unique manner. In addition to being applied as laser engraved gaphics to many of our “Penobscot Heritage Wood Collection”™ products, they are also available in print form.
As prints there will only be 100 of each numbered and signed black and white and colored graphics available. They will be mounted onto white mats and available framed or unframed. Frames will be made from the same trees that members of the Penobscot Tribe and Maine's river logging industry collaborated to harvest and drive to the markets centuries ago.
An expanding selection of unique graphics and paintings will become available as other Maine artists participate in this wood "Recovery & Value Adding" (RVA) initiative. Suggestions and subject materials for developing future artwork within these themes are welcomed.
